Zeiger will continue to work on higher education and transportation committees

House Republican leadership has unveiled committee assignments for the upcoming legislative session and Rep. Hans Zeiger, R-Puyallup, will continue to focus on higher education and transportation issues in his second term. Zeiger will serve as the Assistant Ranking Republican on the House Higher Education Committee and will continue to serve on the Transportation Committee.

“This is a crucial time to be on the Transportation Committee,” Zeiger said. “Now is the time to complete Highway 167. I will not support a transportation funding package unless it includes167.”

Zeiger will also serve on the Early Learning and Human Services Committee, and the Technology and Economic Development Committee

As assistant ranking member on the Higher Education Committee, Zeiger will play a key part in policy strategy for Washington's colleges and universities.

“Higher education is one of our most essential state investments. Our economic future depends on a highly educated workforce. We must sustain funding to higher education,” Zeiger said.

The Legislature convenes on January 14. The regular session is scheduled for 105-days.
