Rep. Hans Zeiger appointed to Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee

Rep. Hans Zeiger was recently appointed to serve on the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC).

“I am excited to be part of the committee that looks at efficiencies in state government in greater detail, including performance audits, program evaluations and sunset reviews,” said Zeiger, R-Puyallup. “My constituents sent me to Olympia to make state government more accountable and more efficient.

“I also look forward to being part of the review process for job-creating tax incentives, especially given the debate we have had this session,” said Zeiger.

The JLARC is comprised of an equal number of House and Senate members, Democrats and Republicans. The next meeting for JLARC is May 18. On the agenda is state ferry terminals. The ferry system received a great deal of attention during the regular legislative session after a KING 5 television investigative report showed a number of inefficiencies and waste in the system that had gone undetected.
